Vision

Is to work on building a strong and dedicated individual Muslims that have the best character and behavior that will strengthen not only the Muslim community but also the society at large. The Islamic Mosque and Religious Institute draw its Guidance from the Noble Qur'an and the Sunnah.

Mission

Is to please God [ALLAH] by obeying his commands. We shall invite to all that is Good, enjoin what is right and forbids what is wrong according to the Qur'an and Sunnah of Prophet Mohamed [PBUH].

Imam Bio

Imam Kip Curnutt was born in Columbia Missouri in 1986. His first introduction to Islam was from a grade school friend from Afghanistan. This friendship had a lasting impact on Kip that ultimately led to him accepting Islam many years later at the age of 24. After accepting Islam Imam Kip dedicated himself to learning and teaching Islam. He studied Arabic and Islamic studies from Cambridge Islamic College and Qasid Institute in Amman Jordan as well as traditional learning in a variety of Islamic subjects from scholars in the US, Jordan, and Egypt. He served as the Imam of the Islamic Center of Morgantown in Morgantown, Before relocating to Grand Rapids with his wife and two children to join Masjid-At-Tawheed.

The Organization Structure

The Constitution established the following two entities to manage and make decisions in the Masjid:

1-Founding Shura:

[ Approve all the decisions]

  • Seven permanent members.
  • Two elected members for three years.
  • Imam is an advisory member.
  • Have the following standing committees:
    1. Strategic planning & action committee
    2. Finance & audit committee.
    3. Zakat committee.
    4. Education Board.
  • Have the following temporary task forces:
    1. Fund Raising task force.
    2. Executive committee election task force.
    3. Assessment & evaluation task force.

2-Executive Committee:

[Manage the daily operation]

  • Elect up to thirteen (13) active members for three (3) years.
  • Imam is an active and voting member.
  • Shura members can serve as an executive committee member.
  • The EC will have a President, Vice President, Treasurer, and a secretary.
  • EC will have the following committees:
    1. Building maintenance subcommittee.
    2. Education and culture subcommittee.
    3. Planning and construction subcommittee.
    4. Community outreach subcommittee.
    5. Social and education subcommittee
    6. Youth subcommittee.
    7. Public relation subcommittee.
    8. Other standing task force as needed.
